About this session:
Why Good People Can’t Get Jobs
Media reports that employers cannot find appropriate candidates to hire suggest that something is wrong
with applicants and perhaps the school systems. The facts suggest otherwise, however, and point to
new approaches to hiring and new demands from employers that are constraining the ability for good
candidates to get jobs. The problem is especially severe for recent graduates who are effectively locked
out by these new approaches. As in his recent book, Peter Cappelli will consider this problem and
potential solutions.
